7-9-2018 MOVIE REVIEW: MOONWALKERS (2015)
Jul 9, 2018
It's 1969 and Central Intelligence Agency is concerned about American sentiment should Apollo 11 not reach the moon. The CIA decides to send one of its top agents to London to hire Stanley Kubrick, who after the success of his magnum opus 2001: A Space Odyssey, might be willing to entertain an offer to help them stage a moon landing which they plan to air on public television. The problem is agent Tom Kidman, a former Vietnam veteran who suffers from PTSD, mistakenly speaks with an imposter disguised as Kubrick and his manager who happens to be in a struggling band that needs the money. When Kidman discovers his mistake, he becomes Hell-bent on making them write their wrongs for the sake of America and all humankind. Very cleverly written and highly enjoyable during the near hour and a half runtime.
